More quilts...
Two of our customers and machine quilters scored "honorable mention" ribbons for their work. Juliana Cliffe's "Silver Celebration Three Generations" was half hand quilted by Juliana and machine quilted by Barbara Belanger. Marty Helman's "Grandad's Garden" was machine quilted by Marcia O'Donnell. Here's a peek.
Best of Show at Maine Quilts
Here's a pic of the winning quilt this year. "Cartoline da Venezia" was created by Margaret Gunn from Gorham! Amazing machine quilting.

Maine Quilts 2011
It's that time of year again! The Pine Tree Quilter's Guild will once again host their annual quilt show at the August Civic Center this Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Visit http://www.mainequilts.org/ for all the details.
APQS & MCQS at Maine Quilts 2011!
Don't miss this great show. Marcia O'Donnell will be available with all the APQS machines - Millennium, Freedom, Lenni and George (and great deals on all of them!). Her booth is just inside the auditorium doors to the left. Amanda and both Molly's will be in the MCQS booth featuring new samples, kits, fabrics, notions, patterns and more. Our booth is in the same location it's been since we started at Maine Quilts - left side of the auditorium, right in the middle. Maine Quilts is a fun weekend and a great place to see good friends. Will we see you?

The Grouchy Ladybug
This new fabric line featuring characters from Eric Carle's classic books is in the house! We just received the Grouchy Ladybug from Andover Fabrics and it is adorable! The pattern is for a "big kid bed" which I guessed to be a twin-ish quilt. This is just adorable and will be a fun sample to make. Look for it after the quilt show next weekend. Hope to see you there! Visit http://www.mainequilts.org/ for more information!

Block of the Month 2012
Starting in January 2012 MCQS will host the Cotton Club BOM program from Bonnie Blue Quilts and Marcus Brothers Fabrics. If you've already seen this advertised, it's because most retailers are starting their programs in September 2011. Since we're already hosting so many BOM programs, we decided to wait until January and Marcus was kind enough to support that decision! See the image below for a complete view of the quilt (which, by the way, doesn't do the fabrics justice). Stop by to see the sample in progress! The blocks are 5" finished and super fun to sew. I'm having a blast! The 12-month program will include all the patterns and fabrics to make the 78" x 83" quilt as you see it in the image for only $23.99 per month. I am finalizing details for a monthly demo morning and workday for club members and Bonnie Blue will be providing us with monthly bonus projects available for attendees. There is a list already started of folks who have enrolled and if you'd like to add your name, just give us a jingle!
